GT4T Document Translator

GT4T developer

Welcome! I am Shougang Cao, the sole developer and maintainer GT4T.

GT4T is an app installed on Windows/Mac that translate various types of files.

GT4T integrates 29 automatic translation engines. Whatever your language pairs are, it can always provide the state-of-the-art translation.

File translator without uploading

Most of the document translators are web based. They usually have the following issues:

  • You need to upload your files to their servers. It is not acceptable to keep a large number of your files on someone else’s server, even if they are not confidential.
  • It seems more convenient to translate only one or two small files as no download is needed. But once there are many files, you will need to upload, queue, translate and download each files. which can be slow, and unstable.
  • Due to technical limitations, most of the web-based file translators have file size limits.

GT4T as an installed app.

  • Files are not uploaded to the server, files are processed and recreated on your own computer.
  • You can directly select one or more files, or even folders, drag and drop them onto the GT4T interface, and the translation will start automatically.
  • There is no size limit, no matter how big the file is. With no uploading or downloading required, the process will be far more smooth and stable.
